“My intentions for this space are not as profound as one might think. Do I think I’ll change the world? Will I become famous? Will I author the greatest story in modern American literature? Probably not. Deep down under this lackluster confidence perhaps I wish those things for myself, but for now let’s keep things basic. I want a place to vent! Not to air my grievances or frustrations. We have social media for that. I wanted a place to vent my head of creative ideas. For years I’ve sat there like many contemplating great stories, things I ‘thought would be cool’, humorous situations, ideas for a film, a novel, a television show, and I’ve never wrote it down or pursued bringing that idea to life. That’s what this place is about. Envision a stack of empty spiral notebooks half of which have several pages ripped out of the binding from failed attempts at creation denied by my own criticism. The pages are crumpled up and tossed to the trash because of some imperfection, a misspelled word, or that little voice that tells me, “It’s just not good enough.” Ripped, torn, crushed up, and thrown to the waste and all I’ve created is a stack of slightly thinner empty spiral notebooks. The ideas are all still there. Some are more clear than others. I need a place where I can put my work out there, tweak it, fine-tune it, and see how far I can take it. This is my idea on a napkin, my journal, and my endless spiral notebook for all people to see.”
